Pile Dynamic Load Test (PDA)
PILE DYNAMIC LOAD TEST (PDA)

PDA test
Foundtest (M) Sdn. Bhd. specializes in high-strain dynamic load testing, analysis, and consulting services for the piling industry. Our dynamic pile testing (commonly known as a PDA test) is conducted on-site by well-trained and experienced engineers using a Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA). The data collected is analyzed with the Case Pile Wave Analysis Program (CAPWAP) to assess pile behavior.
Dynamic pile testing technology has been utilized in the industry for over 30 years. This time- and cost-efficient method has gained widespread popularity and recognition. The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) has established a standard for dynamic load testing (ASTM D4945), making it a reliable alternative to traditional, time-consuming static load tests for determining pile capacity.
The Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) is a powerful tool that monitors a pile’s response to hammer impacts at the pile head. It measures force and acceleration near the top of the pile. In addition to determining pile capacity, PDA tests provide valuable insights into pile integrity, driving stresses, and energy transmission during installation.
Upon completing the pile wave analysis, the comprehensive report predicts static load-settlement behavior and details the pile capacity distribution between the shaft and toe. This information is crucial for engineers assessing pile performance and ensuring structural integrity.
